Here at Volt Edge, our Forklifting course teaches students the skills and knowledge required to operate a forklift truck safely in accordance with all relevant legislative requirements.
Our course is designed to give you the skills and knowledge required to operate a forklift truck safely in accordance with all relevant legislative requirements.
Forklift truck means a powered industrial truck equipped with lifting media made up of a mast and an elevating load carriage to which is attached a pair of fork arms or other attachments that can be raised 900 mm or more above the ground, but does not include a pedestrian-operated truck or a pallet truck.
Our course is completed through a mix of online theory and assessment, face to face practical training, and logbook hours. Student attendance will vary depending on experience.
Inexperienced students will attend 2 full days (log book on a case by case basis)
(Log Book is required by students who have no experience driving a forklift and are deemed not yet competent in this component during the face to face practical training.)
Experienced students will attend day 1 of training and will not be required to attend day 2 if they are deemed competent in the practical component of driving a forklift. This is assessed by a challenge test.
(Log book completion is on a case by case basis).
While we estimate that the average person will need 77 hours to complete this course, it may vary. Below is time break down of this completion:
→ Approximately 10 hours online.
→ 40+ hours log book practical hours (operating a forklift) (on a case by case basis).
And up to 3 days of Supervised instruction including:
→ 1 day supervised theory instruction, discussions and revision.
→ 1 day supervised assessment activities (Written and Practical).
→ 1 day Licencing Assessment (HRWL – High Risk Work Licence).
Training is completed face to face.

Units of Competency
TLILIC0003 – License to operate a forklift truck.
Upon successful completion you will have the skills to:
→ Identify hazard and risk control measures and report to relevant person/s in accordance with workplace procedures.
→ Assess weather and word conditions to determine any impact on forklift truck operations in accordance with manufacturer requirements and safe work procedures.
→ Monitor loads constantly when lifting, moving, lowering and placing to ensure stability of load and avoidance of hazards in accordance with safe work procedures.
