WHAT IS THE HIGHER LEVEL SKILLS PROGRAM?
Our UEE40411 Certificate IV in Electrical – Instrumentation course is funded by the Queensland Government and aims to assist individuals to gain the higher-level skills required to secure employment or career advancement in a priority industry, or to transition to university to further their studies.

ARE YOU ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE?

This program is open to any Queensland resident aged 15 years or over, who is no longer at school and is an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or Australian permanent resident
(including humanitarian entrants), or a temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency. Prospective students must not have or
be enrolled in a Certificate IV or higher-level qualification, not including qualifications completed at school, foundations skills training or qualifications completed under the
electrical training package.

CONSTRUCTION SKILLS QUEENSLAND (CSQ) FUNDING!


WHAT IS CONSTRUCTION SKILLS QUEENSLAND (CSQ) FUNDING?

Our CSQ Funded Programs are targeted to existing workers in the building and construction industry to assist in career development and is designed to help you gain new skills and knowledge.


CSQ FUNDING STUDENT CONTRIBUTION FEE

Student Contribution Fees represent the total non funded subsidised portion of essential training costs for the participant to undertake the training. These fees include tuition, services, materials and all other costs associated with delivering the training and the awarding of the qualification/statement of attainment to the participant.

ARE YOU ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE?

For the purposes of eligibility, Participants under this Agreement must meet the following criteria:

1. Eligible Participant means:

(a) an Australian or New Zealand citizen; or
(b) a permanent resident of Australia; or
(c) a refugee and humanitarian visa holder.

AND MUST:

(d) permanently reside in Queensland; or
(e) be permanently employed in Queensland.

AND MUST BE:

(f) a current active Apprentice or Trainee in Queensland undertaking a Recognised Apprenticeship or Traineeship; or
(g) an Existing Worker or Unemployed Eligible Worker in the first year out of their Recognised Apprenticeship or Traineeship who must commence training within 365 days of the completion date in DELTA; or
(h) a cancelled Apprentice or Trainee who was undertaking a Recognised Apprenticeship or Traineeship that has been cancelled and they are currently accessing State Government funding to complete their institution-based training; or
(i) a current active Apprentice or Trainee in Queensland undertaking a Recognised Apprenticeship or Traineeship who is working on a Major Project; or
(j) an Existing Worker in the first year out of their Recognised Apprenticeship or Traineeship who must commence training within 365 days of the completion date in DELTA who is working on a Major Project.

2. NON eligible Participant under this Agreement are:

(a) an Employee of any Authority (excluding employees of an Indigenous Council that is a Principal Contractor);
(b) currently enrolled and participating in a Queensland secondary school program (excluding a school based Apprentice or Trainee);
(c) a contracted trainer or assessor or existing worker of an RTO;
(d) funded by an Authority or such other source for delivery of the same Training being undertaken as part of this Program;
(e) those Participants seeking a Verification of Competency (or Determination of Competency) services under this Agreement; or
(f) other individuals that do not meet Participant Eligibility as prescribed in Item 1 of Schedule 3.

ARE YOU ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE?

For the purposes of eligibility, Participants under this Agreement must meet the following criteria:

1. Eligible Participant means:

(a) An Existing Worker; and
(b) an Eligible Worker; or
(c) an Unemployed Eligible Worker

AND MUST:

(d) an Australian or New Zealand citizen; or
(e) a permanent resident of Australia; or
(f) a refugee and humanitarian visa holder.

AND MUST:

(g) permanently reside in Queensland; or
(h) be permanently employed in Queensland.

An Existing Worker is a current Employee in the Building and Construction Industry who has a one month or more employment relationship with their Employer. The working relationship can be built up through full-time, part-time or casual employment or engagement as a contract worker.

An Eligible Worker has the same meaning as the Building and Construction Industry (Portable Long Services Leave) Act 1991 (Qld) as amended from time to time.

An Unemployed Eligible Worker is a person who has been unemployed for a period of not greater than 4 years that would otherwise meet the requirements of an Eligible Worker.

2. NON eligible Participants under this Agreement are:

(a) eligible under the Apprentice Advance Plus Program, as:

  • a current active apprentice or trainee in Queensland as defined in the Act undertaking a Recognised Apprenticeship or Traineeship; or
  • an existing worker or unemployed eligible worker in the first year out of their Recognised Apprenticeship or Traineeship who must commence training within 365 days of the completion date in DELTA; or
  • a cancelled apprentice or trainee who was undertaking a Recognised Apprenticeship or Traineeship that has been cancelled and are currently accessing State Government funding to complete their institution-based training.

(b) currently enrolled and participating in a Queensland secondary school program (excluding a school based Apprentice or Trainee);
(c) a contracted trainer or assessor or existing worker of an RTO;
(d) previously funded under this Program for five (5) Short Courses – Civil Construction in the same Contract Term;
(e) funded by an Authority or such other source for delivery of the same Training being undertaken as part of this Program;
(f) those Participants seeking a Verification of Competency (or Determination of Competency) services under this Agreement; or
(g) other individuals that do not meet Participant Eligibility as prescribed in Item 1 of Schedule 3.

(g) those Participants seeking a Verification of Competency (or Determination of Competency) services under this Agreement; or
(h) other individuals that do not meet Participant Eligibility as prescribed in Item 1 of Schedule 3.

JETCO Funding
If you are a member of CIRT (Contracting Industry Redundancy Trust) and you/your employer contribute to the JETCO levy, you are entitled to a scale of subsidies for approved industry based training. CIRT Members are eligible for up to $1,800.00 worth of JETCO funding per financial year to assist with training costs across the following courses in which are taught by Volt Edge:
Hazardous Areas (EEHA)
Hazardous Areas Refresher (EEHA Refresher)
High Voltage Switching Operations
Certificate IV in Electrical – Instrumentation

CIRT applies on major building projects on which a site allowance is applicable (E.g.
