Course Description

This course is suitable for those who are seeking to enter the Vocational Education and Training industry.

Roles that may be relevant for this qualification could include:

Duration and Mode of Delivery:

This course is offered in a blended mode, being online self-paced and face-to-face. You will participate in pre, during and post course learning and assessment. Your enrolment period will be 24 months, although the duration of this course is dependent upon your commitment to the pre, during and post-course assessment and your prior experience. The following image details the course progression pathways.

Options to Present Major Portfolio:

It is a requirement of the TAE40116 assessment to deliver three training sessions.  One session will be delivered during the face-to-face workshop. The remaining sessions are compiled into the major portfolio and presented after attending the workshop.  The major portfolio consists of preparing and presenting two consecutive sessions of at least 40 minutes in duration, which are mapped nationally recognised units of competency and presented to eight participants.

We are offering three options to achieve this:

1. Participant gathers eight participants, video record the sessions (validated with attendance sheet) and uploaded
2. Book into a Volt Edge Zoom session (with seven other participants)
3. Book into a Volt Edge face-to-face session at a Volt Edge venue (with seven other participants)

Course Inclusions:

Volt Edge will provide the following:

• Training and assessment course material
• Online student portal access
• Highly experienced and motivated Facilitators

Each Student is to:

• Provide their own laptop computer (with wireless internet capabilities)
• Have access to a stable internet and computer or laptop with Microsoft Office applications as required
• Complete the pre-course work prior to attending the 10-day face-to-face workshop
• Complete assessment tasks during the 10-day face-to-face workshop and commit to additional study time outside of classroom hours
• Review and comply with the conditions detailed in the Student Handbook

Entry Requirements:

• Completion of the mandatory Pre-Course Survey to demonstrate that you have skills and vocational experience in the field in which you wish to teach. For example, if you are going to use your TAE40116 to teach Electrical Apprentices/trades, you need to provide your qualification from that industry.
• Be confident navigating with web browsers.
• Have strong computer skills to undertake and complete the assessments and prepare PowerPoint presentations
• Be able to conduct research and present information.
• Be prepared to practice your facilitation skills in front of a group – or at least be willing to give it a go.
