The PMA20116 Certificate II in Process Plant Operations is a technical qualification for operators in the hydrocarbons, petrochemical, chemical, metal/ore processing and related
process manufacturing industry sectors. It is intended for competent operators who operate production equipment or undertake similar roles directly producing products. The operator would apply a breadth and depth of knowledge to a defined range of situations and would be expected to apply this knowledge to solve a defined range of problems by applying known solutions to a limited range of predictable problems.
Students will undertake theory assessments and hands on practicals in their workplace or in a simulated environment. To gain a qualification students will need to complete 5 core units and 11 elective units (see the following page for units).

There are no entry requirements. Students who do not currently work on a site, we can arrange a simulated environment.
The maximum course cost is $3, 700.00 – however, if students hold any units of competency required in this course, we would require a copy of the students Academic Transcripts as this can reduce study time and cost.
$10/nominal hour – costs will vary depending on previous units completed and electives selected.
Volt Edge requires, in addition to the core units, a combination of Elective competency standard units to achieve a total weighing of 11 points.
The elective units will be determined by Volt Edge upon application.
