This course acts a refresher to students who have previously taken the Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas (EEHA) units but require an update on industry changes or a simple reminder of the theory and practical covered in EEHA units. The EEHA course is for Electricians who work or plan to work in hazardous areas; Coal Mine / Gas Drainage Plants / Food Processing / LNG / Timber Milling / Petrochemical Industries. It covers the principles of hazardous area classification, explosion-protection techniques, equipment installation requirements, inspections, and procedures for breakdowns and maintenance, with theory and practical components.

To gain a Nationally Recognised outcome, students are required to hold a Certificate III in Electrotechnology or an Unrestricted Australian Electrical Licence. Also, to undertake the refresher you must have completed an EEHA course previously and hold current/recent site experience.
If you hold an unrestricted Australian Electrical Licence or Instrumentation Licence, that meets the pre-requisites, and you have successfully completed an EEHA qualification previously or have extensive industry knowledge you may be eligible to complete the EEHA Online Refresher.

This course is available to take online or in person. If you’d like to take this course online, the volume of learning will comprise of:
→ 40 hours of pre-reading.
→ 15 hours of assessment activity (written).
