The High Voltage Switching course is designed for students to gain High Voltage (HV) experience whilst attaining the formal training to allow them to write switching sheets and perform switching operations while using HV permits This course can also be referred to as HVIA High Voltage Isolation for Access..
This course delivers in-depth training on how to safely perform duties of a High Voltage Switching Operator. This course is a Nationally Recognised course which has been written to meet the requirements of the latest training packages; UEP – Electricity Supply Industry – Generation Sector Training Package and UET – Transmission, Distribution and Rail Sector Training Package.
The course is suitable for Electrical workers, technicians and engineers involved with maintaining high voltage electrical equipment. We cover the legislation, theory and practical aspect of high voltage installations and maintenance. Volt Edge students who hold an unrestricted electrical licence (or meet the pre-requisite units) are eligible to gain a Statement of Attainment with competencies from the UET Transmission Package and UEP Generation package as listed below. All Non Electrical students will gain a Statement of Attainment from the UEP Generation Package only.
This is a 2 day course.
Live Web - Live web is a computer version of a face to face course. The course is run with a trainer in attendance at all times. The student can do the course anywhere in Australia with the use of a computer and camera. Practical achieved via our live web SCADA interface.
Note: Delivered in all states using Brisbane Time 7:30 am to 4:30 pm
Face to Face – Traditional face to face is still our preferred method. The rules are constantly changing speak to our training consultants to see where we are up to in your state

HV Switching Refresher – For most HV Switching Operators, their license needs to be updated every 2-3 years.
HV Switching Refresher and Coordination – Coordination on its own costs $800, but when you combine it with HV Switching Refresher, pay only $300 for the Coord units. The Coordination course will take approximately two days online to complete at your own pace.
HV Switching and Coordination – Enrol in these two courses together and save the $500 you would spend taking them separately.
